Phoenix Coyotes defeat Minnesota Wild, 3-2

A night before Peter Mueller took the ice for Phoenix against the Wild, he was able to sneak down to Prior Lake to watch his brother Tim, a sophomore forward for the Lakers boys' hockey team, play against Holy Angels.

Tim Mueller scored a second-period goal, but Prior Lake lost to the Stars 10-2. "That's hockey," Peter Mueller said.

Despite making a pair of huge second-period saves to keep it a 2-1 Phoenix lead Wednesday night, Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom couldn't stop the shot that ultimately gave the Coyotes the 3-2 victory in regulation. And for good reason: Backstrom, making his first game appearance since Jan. 23 because of a back injury, never really saw it.
