Detroit Tigers defeat St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3

The Cardinals on Thursday night caught a glimpse of what could have been part of their future but instead became part of the Detroit Tigers' present. Thanks largely to what-could-have-been talent Rick Porcello, the Cardinals saw a chance to complete a three-game sweep slip past.

Porcello (8-4) had nothing to do with the Tigers' four-run first inning that stood up in their 6-3 win at Busch Stadium. But he had everything to do with evoking a sense of envy.
