Florida Marlins defeat New York Mets, 6-1

Don't look now, but the Marlins are doing it again.

A year after crushing the Mets' playoff hopes and stamping New York's historical collapse, they picked up where they left off during last season's final weekend and handed the home team a 6-1 loss at Shea Stadium Friday night.

It pushed the Mets to brink of playoff elimination, a game behind the Brewers in the wild-card race with two to play.
