Operation Infinite Reach

The United State launched cruise missile strikes in Afghanistan and Sudan in response to the US Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. The attacks in Afghanistan were directed at known terrorist training bases and targeted key members of al-Qaeda. The strikes in Sudan included a pharmaceutical company that was reported to have been working with bin Laden. President Clinton announced the strikes on national television.
