The Chrysler Neon (known in North America as the Dodge Neon and the Plymouth Neon) was a compact front wheel drive car introduced in January 1994 for the 1995 model year by Chrysler Corporation's Dodge and Plymouth brands. It was branded as a Chrysler model in Japan, Europe, and Australia (where it was the first car to be sold as a Chrysler since 1981) export markets, as well as briefly in Mexico, Canada, and Egypt. It replaced the Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance & Duster models and the Dodge & Plymouth Colt. The Neon was offered in multiple versions and configurations over its production life, which ended on September 23, 2005.
The first generation Neon was introduced in January 1994 and manufactured until August 1999. It was available as a four-door or two-door coupe. It was powered by either a 132 hp (98 kW) at 6000 rpm and 129 lb·ft (175 N·m) at 5000 rpm SAE 2.0 L SOHC or a 150 hp (110 kW) at 6500 rpm (R/T DOHC model) and 133 lb·ft (180 N·m) at 5600 rpm SAE 2.0 L DOHC four-cylinder engine. The first generation Neon was available with a three-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission and was sold as a Dodge and Plymouth in the United States and Canada, and as the Chrysler Neon outside North America.
At the Neon's release, then president of Chrysler Corporation Bob Lutz said, "There's an old saying in Detroit: 'Good, fast, or cheap. Pick any two.' We refuse to accept that." The Japanese press touted the Neon as the "Japanese car killer", due to a spiralling Yen and the lower production cost of the Neon. The Neon did have potential to be successful, with praise for its looks, a lower MRSP, and more standard power when compared to competitor cars of similar vintage - the Civic DX at 102 hp (76 kW), the Civic EX at 125 hp (93 kW), the Sentra at 115 hp (86 kW), the Escort ZX2 at 130 hp (97 kW), the Corolla at 115 hp (86 kW), etc.
First-generation Neons were competitive in SCCA Solo autocross. Available with both the SOHC (sedan) or DO...
The quickening dynamics of Chrysler Neon, which was previously celebrated among concourses of really plain and touching automobiles` votaries, is extremely earthshaking also anon. The absolutely legendary turbine-genertator leverage of this stuff is as usual unsurpassed, speaking about leverage, endless potential, together with colossal operation brand and more unimpeachable, almost Mercedes` trustiness. It furnishes truly classy promptness, which exceeds all your purposes. The sound bodywork was recently ultimately reestablished and structurally reformed.
I would not sense the very economical approaches of seemingly disingenuous, but actually testrained superintendents of honourable Chrysler Neon, who everlastingly overjump the contemporary market individualities and corroborate strongly high-pitched worthiness for such unsophisticated forms of this motor vehicle and don`t will to depreciate the latter. This diriment nonterminatingly acerbates potential purchasers, who heartily adore Chrysler Neon distinctively picture-postcard and very cleaned-up cargobody, together with amazing level of customary accommodation, and greatly rejoices determinate and more far-sighted competitioners, who endeavour to outgo this companionship. The seemingly trickish mechanicians of this magnificent motor vehicle, which can profoundly shock the most sophisticated autos` protagonists` requests and most high-pitched intimate needs, who have already experienced all main temptations of crackajack females` commorancy, once absolutely genially manufactured a really broad-based modification, which discloses very all-encompassing, and usually camouflaged, feasibilities of enormous accommodation and great titillation from quasi unoppressive running, which, actually, admonishes flying. This wizard Chrysler Neon bears chrome-plated carrel, which is exceptionally numinous for such three-farthing form of this unsophisticated auto.
